Chapter 11
After slipping on something to wear. She looked up at the clock and slipped on her shoes it was about 9:30 in the morning and Karen was getting nervous. April watched her sister, she knew she shouldn't be going through this all alone. Daniel was ready, but the time they were ready to leave. He took the keys and looked at Karen.
"It's time to go." He held out his hand for Karen.
Karen took his hand and April decided to go to help her sister for support. Just in case she needed someone that would understand her. April had never experienced pregnancy at all. But she had once missed her period and felt very frightened that she might have been pregnant once. A few weeks after that she felt relived when it had finally came.
Daniel took Karen's hand in his all the way to her car. He helped her in the car and went over to the driver's seat and sat down turning the keys into the keyhole. He looked over at her and patted her thigh. "It's going to be all right, Karen."
Karen smiled and looked at him feeling very happy. He asked her where to turn cause he didn't know where her doctor was. April was in the back seat looking at them both. They had looked like a couple in love.
The car had been silent all the way there. Karen told Daniel where to park and when the car stopped, he helped her out. She took his hand and kissed him on the lips.
April pulled on Karen's arm. "Come on lovebird let's go find out your fate."
Karen smiled at April. "We're coming April."
Daniel closed the car door and followed the two into the office. Karen went up to the sign in desk and signed her name and sat down. The office was empty, strange considering it was always full. Karen sat there with Daniel until they called her name.
"Karen Archer." The nurse called.
Karen got up and went over to the desk. The nurse started handing her a few forms to fill out. "Sign these and return them here when your done." She told her.
"OK." Karen took them and started to fill it out.
April looked at the forms and looked at what she had to fill in. She had been curious as to what they would ask. It was pretty much just the normal information besides when was your last period.
By the time she filled everything out. The doctor had called her in. "Karen Archer" the doctor looked at her. She returned the clipboard to the nurse and Karen called Daniel to come in with her.
"Doctor, is it all right if my boyfriend comes in with me?" She asked.
"Sure." The doctor looked at him strangely recognizing who he was.
He took her into a room and closed the door. "Karen, you've come in for a pregnancy test. What makes you think your pregnant?" He asked her.
"Well its been a month since I had my period. And I have been having unprotected sex lately." She wasn't embarrassed.
"AH well, first we need a sample of your urine and blood, but we also need to do a pelvic example." He said.
"I can leave so you can do what you gotta do. I'll come back after your done, all right Karen." Daniel stood up.
The doctor handed her a tissue paper gown so she could undress. "I'll come back in a few seconds as well, Ms. Archer."
"Mr. Radcliffe hold on a sec." The doctor called.
Daniel turned around. "Excuse me for asking this, but can I get an autograph. My grandchild love's all the Harry Potter movies. I would love it if you could give me an autograph." He asked politely.
"Sure." Daniel said not minding.
He waited while the doctor went and got a photo he had of him that his grandchildren had given him. Daniel took the photo asked for a pen and signed it.
"Thank you so much." He said and then went back to see how Karen was.
Daniel went outside with April and waited while the exam went on. He sat back.
"So Daniel, how old are you already?" April asked.
"Nineteen and you?" He asked.
"Wow your the same age as me." April leaned back.
"Daniel, what are you gonna do if the baby is yours, I mean if she is pregnant of course?" April had been curious.
"Well I do love Karen else I wouldn't have asked her to the gala. She was beautiful standing there behind the ropes just starring at me when I came up to her. I will do right by her, I owe her that much." He smiled to himself.
"And if it isn't yours?" April wondered if he knew about Leo.
"Well then that's another situation, Leo would have to figure it out for himself." He said calmly.
Karen waited while the doctor got set up. He put on his gloves and did the breast exam. He didn't feel any lumps so he tested her heart, blood pressure and did a pelvic exam. She laid there and was asked to get dressed and then gave her a cup to pee in.
She went to the restroom and did the pee sample and returned it to where he told her to place it when she was done. When she finished doing that she went outside and had a seat with Daniel and April.
"Every thing okay, Sis?" April asked.
"So far, April." Karen leaned into Daniel's arms.
The doctor came out a few seconds later. He called both of them in.
"Karen, your test was positive. Your pregnant. Now it's up to you what you decide what you want to do with this pregnancy. You can keep it or well you know." The doctor told her.
"I am going to keep my baby." She said.
"Ok, see you in 3 weeks." He handed her a card.
"Thank you, Doctor." Karen was somewhat excited she was gonna be a mom.
Daniel hands started to sweat, but he loved Karen. He would take his responsibilities, he only hoped it was his and not Leonardo's.
Karen looked into Daniel's eyes. "I'm going to tell him today, Daniel. We are not going through this alone."
Just then Karen's cell rang and it was him. Karen answered. "Hello?"
"Hello, peach. Listen we need to talk." Leonardo said.
"Yeah meet me at a restaurant called, Lauren's on 6th Street." Karen said.
"Ok I'll be there in a half hour." He said.
"Ok see ya then." She said then clicked off.
She got into the car with Daniel and April. She felt much better now knowing what was wrong with her. She turned to Daniel and kissed him as April took the driver's seat. He kissed her like he never kissed her before.
"I love you Karen and the little one that we might have conceived together." He told her with a serious expression.
"I love you Daniel." She kissed him.
