Chapter 13

Daniel looked up at Karen when she approached the table. She seemed to be in an okay spirit. When she sat down next to him, she kissed his cheek and took his hand. She didn't care about Leo anymore. It had been a long time coming. She knew that now.

"So, now that we are all acquinted. Why don't we talk like a family." Karen said.

"But Karen, only you and I are family." April spoke up.

"I know that, but I am talking about the fathers of my soon to be." Karen told April.

"Oh, okay. So which one of you think my sister is hot?" April said out loud.

"I think we both do. Since both of us slept with your sister, April." Leo said.

"Do you think, I am hot?" April looked deep into his eyes.

"Of course you are. Aren't all Archer's?" He smiled at her.

Karen seen the attraction, between Leo and her sister. Daniel sat back with his arm around Karen. He took her hand and put it in his looking at her hand and seeing himself wear the exact same ring that he had purchased for himself. It was a Wedding ring set. His and hers. He kept wondering if he should tell her to marry him. When they were alone.

Karen looked at Daniel. "You okay?" She looked at him.

"Ah yea, just deep in concentration is all." He smiled.

She got closer and whispered into his ear. "Save that for later, your gonna need it."

He laughed at her and knew all too well what she was thinking. He was glad to be with her more than she knew.

When their lunch came, they had all been quiet and started to eat. Karen attacked her plate and ate almost everything on it, before anyone could finish. She patted her belly feeling content. Leo, April and Daniel just looked at her eat. When Karen looked up she saw everyone starring at her.

"What?" She asked them.

"Wow Karen you were really hungry!" April said.

"Of course I was." She laughed.

April starting eating slowly. She watched everyone else eat. To break the ice, April started up a conversation. "So, Leo are you currently seeing anyone at the moment?"

He looked over at her. "No, no one." He responded after chewing down his food.

"Great. We should get together sometime. I mean since you work with my sister. I thought maybe we could get to know each other." She smiled.

"Sounds great, April." He smiled at her.

Karen looked over at her sister flirting with Leo. For some reason, it upset her that her sister was going after him. She wasn't jealous, it was just that she wanted her sister to be careful cause Leo was not the kind of guy to stay in a serious relationship for too long. She didn't want her sister to start something with him that would only end up in heart ache.

After lunch, Karen and Daniel decided to go home. Leo and April decided to go together and get to know each other a little better. Karen didn't feel right about that. Daniel could see she was worried about Karen. He took the keys and drove them home. After parking the car, he looked toward her and spoke.

"Karen, don't worry about April. She will be fine." He patted her knee.

"It's not April. I am worried about." She looked at him.

"Come on, let's get inside." He said.

Karen yawned and got out of the car. She felt tired and just wanted to relax in bed all day. She walked up the stairs with Daniel by her side. He was such an amazing guy. She loved him heart and soul.

As he put the key into the keyhole she stood in front of the door. He looked at her smiling. "Don't you wanna go inside?"

She leaned forward and kissed him. He leaned closer to her and took her head and kissed her deeply as he did so, he turned the key and pushed her gently backward to go inside. She didn't let go of him, until she found her way through his shirt. Unbuttoning one button at a time. He took her hand and led her to the couch.

"Before we do this, I got something to say to you." He paused touching a box in his pocket of his jeans.

"What?" She looked at him curiously.

"I've been wanting to tell you this for quite some time now. I just haven't got the nerve to ask you until now." He said slowly.

"What is it, you can tell me anything Daniel." Karen leaned forward touching his face.

"Today, at lunch I was amazed at your truthfulness. You leaned on me for support and I felt it. I knew, that you needed me and I feel that now. I don't want to disappoint you at all. But I feel this is necessary." He touched her face.

"Daniel, what are you saying? What ever I done, I can change. I am sorry." She felt that he was gonna leave her.

"Sweetie, there is no need to be sorry. I love you. What I wanted to ask you is," He took the box out of his pocket hiding it behind his back.

"Will you marry me?" He had finally said it and was sweating.

"You serious?" She asked him.

"Honey, that ring you are wearing is an engagement ring." He looked at her.

She smiled and looked down at her ring. It was a sparkler. She was at a lose for words. What could she possibly say to him. It was very expected.

"Daniel, you are so sweet. I never expected this, I mean I love you. But are you really sure?" She wanted him to be positive that this is what he wanted.

"Of course, I wouldn't have asked you. If I wasn't sure." He smiled at her and put his arm around her.

She hugged him and whispered into his ear. "YES."

Being an older woman and looking at her future she could not pass marrying her idol. She loved him fully. She had no reason not to say no. He was truly one of a kind.

He kissed her deeply and lead her to her bedroom where they spent a blissful evening in each other's arms.
